This year’s Day Lenten Journey offers a unique opportunity to wrestle with the meaning of the cross for us today as we look at Luther’s teachings through two very special sessions led by Dr. Mark Tranvik, Professor of Religion at Augsburg College: "How Luther Got Crossed-up" and "His Cross is Your Cross." Bringing additional richness and meaning to the day will be special music by Kraig Windschitl, art, worship led by Pastor Drew Bakken, and as always, good food and fellowship. This is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to set the stage for a very special Lenten season indeed!

Cost: $25. Complimentary bus from 7500 York (8:45am), West (9am), Mpls (9:15am). Call 952.469.2175 or email kretka@mtolivetretreat.org for information and registration.

As we look to the cross this Lenten season, we might have more questions than answers about Jesus' amazing sacrifice and miraculous resurrection. This online course -- featuring David Lose, our Senior Pastor-elect -- helps to make sense of the cross and what it means to Christian faith. Complete the 45-minute course on your own, then join Liz Otteson and other Mount Olivet members and friends for a discussion of how Jesus' journey to the cross impacts our own journeys today.

Registration required to gain access to this online course. Cost: $10 for new MObile Faith users.

Through the lens of the cross, these services will explore the Ten Commandments. We will see that Christ Jesus invites us to delight in God’s ways, to discover the life-giving grace of God’s commandments. We hope you will accept Jesus’ invitation – and ours – to explore the Ten Commandments and Martin Luther’s explanation of them in our Midweek Lenten Services.
