Devotions: Season of Life

Autumn is a beautiful time of year. The seasons change. Some of our childhood memories come alive this time of year: the smells, the cool evenings, football games, apple cider, and pumpkin patches. I think of raking leaves, then jumping in them and having to rake them up again, or going out to the “country” for hay rides and to pick apples. e most vivid memories for me are of the colors. The leaves on the trees change in color, some even give us a pause to say, “Well done God!” One person commented about leaves this way, “How beautifully they show us the process of change ... just as we’d never try to stop leaves from turning, we can allow joy, sadness, pain, and happiness to cycle within us, safe in the knowledge that peace comes from letting go, trusting in the beautiful process of change.” Our Pastoral Care team is here to help us amidst the seasons of life. Sometimes we need just a little more than words of encouragement or a hug from a friend. Sometimes people need help finding legal services, help in their home, help with aging parents or new babies, support in crisis, Mental Health resources, help with coordinating a move, grief support, finding new living arrangements, funeral plans, health care directives and many other things.

Your Pastoral Care team is here for you. Amidst all the seasons of life, one thing remains a constant. The Lord is with you!

“Nothing in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is ours in Christ Jesus Our Lord” (Romans 8:29).
