Summer Breakfast

MPLS: Wed Jul 25, 7:30-9:30am, Fellowship Hall

Leaders don’t sit back and absorb situations as they arise. They jump into the adventure and help direct its course. This is exactly what our breakfast attendees will do on July 25th when Dr. Abdul M. Omari shares his expertise and stories about leadership, from mentoring to serving on boards of directors and everything in between. Join Abdul — one of Minnesota Business Magazine’s top "Young Entrepreneurs" — and the Career & Calling community as we build an energizing conversation around leadership and relationships in real time. You will help select which topic(s) we dive into as a means of making leadership theories practical and personal, and come away with ideas about how you can determine your own path of guiding and empowering the people you work with.

Donation suggested. Registration will be open from 6/13 through 7/23.

Summer Job Club

MPLS: Wed 7/11 & 8/15 from 6:30-8pm, Room 207

If you are a recent college graduate seeking your first job or a seasoned worker looking for a new position, you know the process can be overwhelming. Mount Olivet’s Career & Calling ministry invites you to our Summer Job Club where you can learn and practice important job search skills, get individualized coaching, and find spiritual and social encouragement to keep you motivated in your job hunt.

July 11: LinkedIn Profiles that Get Noticed
LinkedIn is more than a digital resume, but figuring out exactly how to build a robust and attention-getting profile isn’t easy.  We will review best practices for LinkedIn and dedicate the majority of our time together to helping you edit and add to your profile.  Bring your laptop or tablet for this productive work session. Facilitators: Anna Grossbach and Chris Rofidal

August 15: Interviews -- from Preparation to Polished Presence
There are lots of interview tips out there.  Do more than read a list of dos and don’ts and Google the company.  This session allows you to practice handling various interview scenarios and offers feedback on how to demonstrate your unique set of strengths through conversation. Facilitators: Martha Carlson and Kevin Zickert

Come to one, two, or all three of these sessions. The Summer Job Club events are free and open to members and non-members alike. Please save your spot by registering at bit.ly/CareerCallingJobClub
