THE LIVING LORD'S SUPPER

Thursday 6 and 7:30pm, Minneapolis Campus

  A special Holy Week communion service featuring a re-enactment of the Last Supper. We invite you to witness the scene in the upper room as Jesus and his twelve disciples break bread together before Jesus' death on the cross. This meaningful service will feature special music by the Senior Choir and communion will be served before a live depiction of the familiar painting "The Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci. We hope you will add this unique and powerful communion service to your Holy Week worship schedule.

Day Lenten Journey

Tuesday 10am-3:00pm, Conference and Retreat Center


Pastor Ken Kotzer will lead us in this annual day of reflection and inspiration. Enjoy warm fellowship, stimulating conversation and a tasty lunch surrounded by the natural beauty of the Conference & Retreat Center. Our day will conclude with communion worship in our chapel overlooking the lake and prairie. Cost is $12 per person for the program and lunch. Complimentary bus transportation is available from the Minneapolis campus. Reservations are required for lunch and the bus, 952.469.2175 or email cjames@mtolivetretreat.org.

 
SEVEN LAST WORD'S OF CHRIST by Dubois

Mount Olivet Lutheran Church presents the moving Lenten oratorio "The Seven Last Words of Christ" by Theodore Dubois. The concert will feature a 200 voice choir, orchestra, and soloists Amanda Jenkins, soprano, Brian Ohnsorg, tenor, and Justin Staebell, baritone. The concert will take place in the main sanctuary at the Minneapolis Campus; doors open at 6:00 p.m. and admission is free. Cathedral Choir alumni join us for practice at 5:30pm.

Tenebrae Service
7:30pm, Minneapolis and West Campus

Tenebrae is Latin for shadows.  The purpose of this service is to recreate the betrayal, abandonment and agony of the events of Holy Week. After each reading, a candle is extinguished, eventually leaving the sanctuary in total darkness.  This worship service is left unfinished because the story is not complete until Easter Sunday...
