Mr. Preisser’s resume includes over 35 operatic and musical theater roles with a variety of prestigious opera companies throughout the nation, including Minnesota’s own Minnesota Opera Company, Skylark Opera Company, and the Minnesota Orchestra. We welcome back to Mount Olivet the award-winning bluegrass ensemble, Monroe Crossing. Named in honor of Bill Monroe, “The Father of Bluegrass Music,” Monroe Crossing dazzles audiences with an electrifying blend of classic bluegrass, bluegrass gospel, and heartfelt originals. Based in Minnesota, Monroe Crossing is made up of five very distinct personalities with differing musical backgrounds and tastes, combining for a very unique ensemble sound. Special Music
The Harriet Avenue Woodwind Quintet is made up of local Twin Cities musicians who share a common passion for community bands, community orchestras, music education, and especially chamber music. Rachel Wixson, flute, teaches elementary music at Marcy Open School in Minneapolis and is a life-long Mount Olivet member. Oboist Dagan Hanson directs the middle school bands at Hidden Oaks Middle School in Prior Lake. Reid Wixson, clarinet, directs the Bands and Orchestras at Southwest High School in Minneapolis. Heidi Stodola, horn, directs the middle school bands at Folwell Performing Arts Magnet in Minneapolis. Rachel Moeller, bassoon, is Assistant Production and Design Manager at the University of Minnesota Press. All five perform regularly with such groups as the Minnesota Symphonic Winds, the Grand Symphonic Winds, and the Northern Symphony Orchestra.

Special Music
The Barbary Coast Dixieland Band was elected to the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame in 2001 and rated among the finest entertainers in the Midwest. The band has played everywhere — from the Mississippi paddle wheel boats and the Minnesota State Fair, to Nagasaki, Japan. Over the past 30 years they have regularly provided musical ministry in churches involving over 40 Sundays each year. Their mission is to "Make a Joyful Noise unto the Lord" and their music provides an uplifting experience for both the musicians and the congregation.
