Dear Mount Olivet Members,

Our Building on a Strong Foundation – with Christ as Our Rock capital campaign is a success! Your generosity has made possible our extraordinary new front entrance and elevator, renovated kitchens, updated parking lot, and beautiful landscaping at the Minneapolis Campus. Thank you for your support, love, and prayers.

We continue to celebrate meeting our goal of $16.5 million in gifts and pledges. In addition, we have received $1.5 million in new planned gifts, as well as $200,000 for Cathedral of the Pines, given as part of the campaign. Last winter Pastor Hogenson presented a $100,000 check to Redeemer Lutheran Church with campaign funds designated for our partnership supporting their youth mentorship program.

To date we have received payments totaling $12.9 million. We are grateful to all donors for fulling their pledges, some of which have been completed, and some of which go through 2018. All designated gifts are honored, and the funds are held for their respective projects.

We originally estimated the cost of the first phase of the Minneapolis Campus construction to be $6.5 million. Due to heavy rains, major delays, shortages and increased prices for materials, a new chiller, and updating the Fellowship Hall, the cost for first phase came in at $8.3 million.

Through thoughtful consideration and input, plans are evolving for both our West Campus addition and the Minneapolis Campus east addition. e Congregation Council needs to review and approve any new plans, and we look forward to sharing more about these projects in the coming months. Please watch for this information in upcoming communications. Again, we extend our heartfelt thanks for the support Mount Olivet has received to date for our Building on a Strong Foundation – with Christ as Our Rock capital campaign!
