Minneapolis: Main Sanctuary- Minneapolis Campus

What an exciting journey our Building on a Strong Foundation – with Christ as Our Rock capital campaign has been so far! Together we celebrate reaching

$16.5 million in pledges and gifts, and in addition, we also received commitments of $1.5 million in new planned gifts that will help our church in the future. Gifts of all sizes helped us reach this goal. Thank you so much for this great support!

From the beginning, we knew we could take the leap of faith to do a capital campaign in a time of transition because of the strong leadership of our Congregation Council and the willingness of Pastor Craig Johnson to embrace a vision for Mount Olivet’s strong future. Throughout the process there have been poignant stories of people adding their support, big or little, to prepare the way for future generations that have inspired us. Gratitude and generosity are a mighty combination.
After we broke ground last May at our Minneapolis Campus, there were many challenges including last year’s record-setting spring rains and flooding. There was no way to anticipate the issues that caused delays and increased expenses however, we thank God that the rains came when they did so we could solve that problem before the new construction was completed.

To celebrate the completion of the new front entrance, elevator, parking lot, and kitchens at the Minneapolis Campus, we will come together on Monday, May 11, from 5pm to 7pm, for an open house. There will be a special dedication service at 6pm to express our thanks to the Lord for strengthening our hearts for ministry and giving us courage to take this journey together.

We continue to work on plans for the West Campus and are refining the education and music addition plans in preparation for that construction. We have heard many people say, “Mount Olivet always does it right!” That is our goal every step of the way. There is still work to be done, resources to be gathered, and construction to begin. We remain confident that our Mount Olivet family will continue to support with hearts of thankfulness, generosity, and joy. Together we are Building on a Strong Foundation – with Christ as Our Rock. Thanks be to God!
