Joyful Lives Expressed in Gratitude, Generosity, Service, and Care

Generosity
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone.  To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discernment of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are activated by one and the same Spirit, who allots to each one individually just as the Spirit chooses. – 1 Corinthians 12:4-11

On June 5, we officially celebrate the gifts of the spirit through Mount Olivet volunteers. Did you know that when you give of your time, talents, your energy, your creativity, your sweat – you are being a good steward? Congratulations! God calls us to generously share the gifts we are given each and every day of the year (not just in September!) and we thank you for doing so!

Whether you prefer to wear a purple robe or a blue denim apron, thank you. If you are an avid Mary or more of a Martha, thank you. Maybe you traveled to Guatemala this year, or up to Lutsen, or to the Michael’s craft store in Richfield, thank you. Maybe you volunteered wearing a suit with bulletins in hand, or maybe you wore jeans holding a paint brush or hammer. Or perhaps you stuffed countless bulletins or a few turkeys for our festive Thanksgiving or Christmas Early dinners. However you volunteered, thank you. Your gifts of time and talents are so appreciated and provide a pay-it-forward mentality to both those who do the giving, and to those who do the receiving.

The Mount Olivet Stewardship vision is: Joyful lives expressed in gratitude, generosity, service, and care. Thank you to all Mount Olivet volunteers who do just that – give back with joy and cheer. The halls of our campuses, camps, and community events are filled with smiling people who more often than not are asking, “What more can I do?”
That is what it is all about! Thanks be!

We are all given gifts that we can share, and our collective gifts are all for the common good, as 1 Corinthians 12:7 teaches us. The Lord has blessed us all and for that we say thank you. Join the celebration on June 5 as Mount Olivet celebrates and thanks the 1000s of volunteers who share their different and blessed gifts!

If you are looking for a way to get involved, make sure to join us on June 5, when we highlight a few of our 500+ opportunities to serve through Mount Olivet and its affiliated ministries. All are welcome!
