Attitude of Christ

Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate?  Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose (Philippians 2:1-2, New Living Translation).

This is my experience of life at Mount Olivet, that of being surrounded by people who demonstrate an attitude of Christ. The ways in which you give generously of your time, energies, and monies. I am inspired as I witness the Holy Spirit move people of all ages into deeper more authentic relationships with God, one another, and the larger church.

Does taking the risk to move out of our routines, beliefs, and life-long patterns to get involved in a fellowship offering at church make a difference in a faith community as large as Mount Olivet? The answer is yes. Upon our consent to exhibit vulnerability, show up, and see how others are living lives of deep fulfilling fellowship relations, we will become ever attractive to others. All this is to say that once as we become willing to channel our heart’s desire toward the workings of the Spirit, we will not want to miss out on new means to be happy, love, and be loved under the umbrella of Christian fellowship.
