We are thrilled with the progress of the Minneapolis Campus east addition on James Avenue. As we approach the final weeks of the project, here are some of the highlights:

The 7 new classrooms are painted, light fixtures have been installed and the casework will be installed in the next 2 weeks preparing for Sunday school, confirmation and Adult Education classes.

The new rehearsal hall has been painted and the concrete risers will be poured in the next 2 weeks. The lights have been installed, 225 choir chairs have been ordered with a delivery date of January 23.

The new elevator has been installed and the outside masonry stone work has begun. Once the final inspections have taken place early January, the music staff will begin moving into their new offices. When the 122,000 pieces of music have been relocated to the new music library and the grand piano has been placed in the rehearsal hall, the Senior and Cathedral Choirs will begin practicing in their new space in February.

The West Campus also has undergone a transformation. The old administration building has been removed, and a beautiful new parking lot with 97 new stalls has emerged. The new parking lot includes an impressive retaining wall (20 feet tall in spots), eight trees with surrounds of previous pavement, and a new iron fence. The first lift of blacktop is in and the lot has been striped. Major grading also has begun to prepare the site, and meetings are occurring weekly to finalize plans and details so construction can begin May 1, 2018.
