An Invitation to Grow

A new year brings about much discussion of what the future holds as we hope and dream for the year to come. Read Pastor Enoch’s devotion on New Year’s resolutions or Pastor Youngdahl’s invitation on Finding Balance in 2016 and discover how the stepping stones of a new year can strengthen your spiritual life as well. As you look forward to your year ahead, consider these 4 steps to growing in your spiritual life in the New Year:

Pick one thing to try – Join us for a Bible study or service project. If you have a hard time hearing God through the busyness of life, carve out time to reflect and pray at our weekly Spiritual Oasis, held at West on Mondays and Mpls on Tuesdays.

Take baby steps to make a tiny habit – If your worship attendance is less than regular, commit to worshipping one more Sunday a month, or join us at our weekly Prayer & Praise services Wednesdays at 10am (Mpls).

Hold yourself accountable – Tell others about your plans. Meet with a pastor and develop your plan to grow spiritually in the New Year, or invite a friend to worship with you.

Focus on the carrot, not the stick – Be kind to yourself. Remember these steps are meant to enhance your relationship with God, not to be a perfect person.
