General Information
All are welcome to enjoy the relaxing and comfortable atmosphere that the Mount Olivet Library - Minneapolis has to offer. There are books (children's picture and chapter books, fiction, non-fiction, reference,& large print novels) CDs, DVDs, videos, magazines and books on tape. Subjects include Christian living, devotionals, self-help, family issues, grief, health issues, travel, biography, theology reference, and cookbooks. Besides the wide variety of materials available, there is a lovely 110 gallon aquarium complete with an iridescent shark. We also have the audio reproductions of the Sunday worship services available for check out.

All materials are checked out for 2 weeks at a time and renewed if that is not long enough. We simply need a name and phone number when checking out materials. We can also reserve titles for you if the particular item has been already checked out.

Volunteer Opportunities
The Mount Olivet Library operates with the help of volunteers. If you are interested working with books, people -- or even fish -- there could just be a job waiting for you at the library!

Volunteers positions that are available:
Circulation Desk Shifts - Assisting in the check out process, checking materials back into the library as they are returned to the library, shelving materials, and general library projects. This job can be done as much as once a week, or as little as once a month.

Processing New Materials - Preparing new books involves entering the title into the computer, covering them with plastic covers, and labeling. This job is done as needed, not necessarily on a regular schedule.

Repairing Damaged Materials - Recovering and taping up the pages of books and other materials when they have been over-used. This job is done about 4 times a year.

Bulletin Board Displays - Bulletin board displays need to be created and/or put up once a month. Also, book displays must be created, a bi-monthly job.
