Youth Programs and Ministry - 5th & 6th Grade

Mount Olivet Church offers a variety of programs for children and youth of all ages.  If you have questions regarding youth ministry, please contact a member of the youth ministry team or call the church office at 612.926.7651 for additional information regarding programs at either of our campus locations.

The Way

Mount Olivet establishes a dynamic partnership with families in the Christian education and faith development of their children.  Instead of traditional Sunday Church School classes, 5th and 6th graders participate in The Way, a pre-Confirmation program Sunday mornings.

This is an exciting program for young people as they transition from Sunday Church School into Confirmation on their faith journey

Click here for more about The Way, class times and contact information.

Chapel Choir

A choir for the intermediate age singer.  4th through 6th graders use their musical knowledge to begin part-singing as well as explore the use of "hands on" instrumental accompaniments.  These advanced choristers will utilize their musical gifts in a variety of different ways through the choir year!

Joyful Noise! - Orff Ensemble

An instrumental ensemble of xylophones, glockenspiels, metallophones, and rhythm instruments. During class time, the children, grades 4th through 6th, will learn to play the various instruments while singing, moving, playing, improvising, and composing.

Joy Bells

Joy Bells is a handbell ensemble experience for 4th through 6th graders. Rhythmic and musical skills are learned and enhanced in this special instrumental group. Some previous musical knowledge is preferred but not necessary. The ensemble performs in worship services throughout the year and plays an important role in the yearly Christmas Concert.
