Come and help the growing number of children that go hungry each and every day. This is a great opportunity not only to serve for your Church but a cause that is as big as World Hunger. This event is a chance for 6th Graders to experience a Junior High Alive Event and a taste of what is to come for the next 2 years in Confirmation. Our 8th Grade Leaders are very excited to work along side of you and share why they love having their Faith and Church be a part of their Life. Myself, Zach, and Gina are very excited to meet you and look forward to a fun TWO years together! Get ready to pack, pack, pack! Contact Geoff Arenson at 612-767-2212 or with any questions.

Mount Olivet establishes a dynamic partnership with families in the Christian education and faith development of their children.  Instead of traditional Sunday Church School classes, 5th and 6th graders participate in The Way, a pre-Confirmation program on Sunday mornings. This is an exciting program for young people as they transition from Sunday Church School into Confirmation on their faith journey.

Students in 5th and 6th grades are invited to enhance their faith through educational, service, and fellowship activities. Students experience the importance of Christian friendships and faith for life. We focus on Jesus' call to serve others.

While the students learn about the Bible, Martin Luther, and other typical Sunday School lessons, the program has several differences, including:

    • A unique format on Sunday mornings with large and small groups to build friendships and get to know one another.
    • We have our own events:
      • Fifth graders participate in a Bible Presentation and Dinner with their parents on Reformation Sunday.   Please click here for pictures from our 2014 event.
      • Sixth graders participate in Holy Communion on Sunday, April 26 to mark the beginning of their Confirmation journey.  Details will be emailed from our Confirmation coordinators.
      • Social and service events during the year!  We will announce these events duCard made by a 10 year old student.ring class and via email.  Past events include bowling, volunteering at Feed My Starving Children, and a fun evening at GrandSlam.  Members, visitors, and friends are all welcome to attend these events and  Sunday morning classes.

    Special Needs
For families with children with special needs, we offer Sunday Morning Friends at 11am at our Minneapolis campus. Dedicated individuals and professionals in the field volunteer on Sunday mornings to provide children with a loving and flexible Sunday School experience. Alternatively, if parents would rather have their child paired with an assistant in a typical classroom, we are happy to find a partner for your child.  Please contact Jeff or Abby to start planning a successful and meaningful learning path for your child.
