Believing, belonging, becoming...
Sunday Church School at Mount Olivet establishes a dynamic partnership with families in the Christian education and faith development of their children.
The Sunday Church School experience welcomes children 3 years of age (as of September 1) through 4th grade, and is designed to familiarize children with the wonderful story of God's faithfulness centered in the Good News of the Gospel.
Sunday Church School uses Spark!, a biblically based, child-centered and age-appropriate curriculum. Children in Sunday Church School:
- explore Bible stories through storytelling, craft time, and dramatic play,
- contribute to our Thanksgiving food drive,
- share Christmas with over 70 neighbor families with Pastor Scott and VEAP,
- create Valentine's Day cards for older members, and
- give "above and beyond" during weekly offerings for our neighbors at home and abroad!!
Each week we continue to build on the fundamentals of faith, learning stories in the Bible and that we are all God's children.
“I am excited for my last year in Sunday School before I start The Way. I enjoy learning about Jesus and God. It’s fun to see friends that I haven’t seen much over the summer. Plus all the new friends I make at King’s Kids Camp.” - EllaIn 5th grade students advance into The Way, a unique spiritual adventure designed just for them - focusing on topics that relate to the important and changing "pre-teen" years. This pre-Confirmation program is for 5th & 6th graders before Confirmation begins in 7th grade.

To volunteer as a classroom assistant, substitute teacher, or superintendent (help teachers Sunday morning and pick up attendance from classrooms), please contact Abby Norlin-Weaver or Heather Melsness.
For families with children with special needs, we offer Sunday Morning Friends at 11am at our Minneapolis campus. Dedicated individuals and professionals in the field volunteer on Sunday mornings to provide children with a loving and flexible Sunday School experience. Alternatively, if parents would rather have their child paired with an assistant in a typical classroom, we are happy to find a partner for your child. Please contact Heather or Abby (contact info at left) to start planning a successful and meaningful learning path for your child.
