Students in 5th and 6th grade are invited to join us at The Way, our pre-Confirmation program on Sunday mornings.
Classes are held Rally Sunday, September 11 through May 21 (no classes December 18, 25, January 1, or on Easter Sunday - April 16). Teacher/classroom assignments will be emailed to families at the end of August.
Believing, belonging, becoming...Sunday Church School at Mount Olivet establishes a dynamic partnership with families in the Christian education and faith development of their children.
The Sunday Church School experience is designed to familiarize children with the wonderful story of God's faithfulness centered in the Good News of the Gospel.
Sunday Church School for 3 years-Kindergarten uses Spark!, a biblically based, child-centered and age-appropriate curriculum. Each week we continue to build on the fundamentals of faith, learning stories in the Bible and that we are all God's children and:
- explore Bible lessons through storytelling, crafts, and dramatic play,
- contribute to our Thanksgiving food drive,
- share Christmas with neighbor families with Pastor Scott, and
- sing during worship on two Sundays.
Sunday Church School for 1st-4th grades uses a custom-created scope and sequence that incorporates Science/Technology/Engineering/Math (STEM), writing, drama, worship leading, and art. Kids will apply what they learn in school Monday through Friday to explore the Bible on Sundays.
In 5th grade students advance into The Way, a unique spiritual adventure designed just for them - focusing on topics that relate to the important and changing "pre-teen" years. This pre-Confirmation program is for 5th & 6th graders before Confirmation begins in 7th grade.

To volunteer as a classroom assistant, substitute teacher, or superintendent (help teachers Sunday morning and pick up attendance from classrooms), please contact Amber Kuntz (MPLS) or Tasha Holified (WEST).
For families with children with special needs, we offer Sunday Morning Friends at 11am at our Minneapolis campus. Dedicated individuals and professionals in the field volunteer on Sunday mornings to provide children with a loving and flexible Sunday School experience. Alternatively, if parents would rather have their child paired with an assistant in a typical classroom, we are happy to find a partner for your child. Please contact Amber (contact info at left) to start planning a successful and meaningful learning path for your child.
