Last year a Mount Olivet member called to say how much she appreciated the Palm Sunday
visit and the gift of a Peace Lily: "it really touched my heart."
Be An Easter AngelSunday, April 17 Minneapolis Campus Gymnasium Are you looking for a way
to reach out to someone in need? A special opportunity is being planned for you on Sunday, April 17, 2011. Join Pastor Drew
Bakken, Pastor Scott, Darcy Winter, and other Mount Olivet members in Mount Olivet Angel Gifts — a food and gift basket
program for the homebound, St. Joseph's Home for Children, and inner-city ministry of Mount Olivet Church.
Donate
items for the baskets. Suggested Easter Angel gifts
include a bag of groceries including rice, pasta, peanut butter, canned meat and tuna, paper products, wrapped candy (no desserts),
picture and board books, Easter baskets in varying sizes, small gifts, a collection of personal hygiene items, note cards,
stamps, and new unwrapped gifts for adults or children. All Angel Gifts may be left at the church office (Minneapolis and
West Campuses) between now and April 17. (Please mark them Angel Gifts.) Junior High Angel Gifts such as wrapped treats, toiletries,
school supplies, stickers, markers will be accepted by the Junior High Alive program (please mark them Junior High Angel Gifts)
for assembly by our junior high youth for delivery to a youth program for youth-at-risk. Donations will be accepted at both
campuses.
Help assemble and deliver the baskets. Volunteers are needed to help assemble
and/or deliver the baskets. Come to the gym (Minneapolis Campus) at 11:45 am on April 17. There will be a brief orientation, and you will be on your way
in just over an hour. If you are unable to help that day, but would like to deliver the baskets prior to Easter Sunday, please
call or email Pastor Bakken, 612.767.2261 or drewb@mtolivet.org. You are the angel God will use in the lives of wonderful people. Please call the church office (612.926.7651)
to sign up for this special outreach project.
