Baptism at Mount Olivet

The sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion carry God's grace — forgiveness, life and salvation — to God's people. These sacraments are gladly offered for you and your family at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church. "In the waters of Baptism we are reborn children of God and inheritors of eternal life. By water and the Holy Spirit we are made members of the church which is the body of Christ." -Lutheran Book of Worship We have baptisms every Sunday. The Pastor who is scheduled to preach also performs the baptisms on that given Sunday. Below is the schedule. Private baptisms can be arranged.

Baptism Class

Baptism is a once-in-a-lifetime sacrament in your child’s faith journey. Jesus said to his followers, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19). Baptism is God’s promise to us to wash away our sins. In this one-session, one-hour class with Pastor Kurt Kalland at the Minneapolis Campus and Pastor Eric Youngdahl at the West Campus, you will learn more about the promises Baptism holds for your child, the promises you make for your child, and ways to help your children understand themselves as children of God.
